it's aliiive!!!!

Well, guess what? My profile on this computer is no longer corrupted! Hence my ability to blog on it.

I am so glad my exams are over (for now anyway). Deep, breathing, sighs of relief and plenty of free time to work in the shop. I work so that I can afford to finance my habit of buying expensive books. Although last weekend I bought two for £4 - an Edgar Allan Poe collection (which included my favourite poem, The Raven) and Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray. Also, just finished: Something Rotten by Jasper Fforde. I really liked that. It was really funny. It was about this women called Thursday who lived in fiction and worked alongside Mrs Tiggywinkle. She went into the real world and took Hamlet to come and stay with her. He was so funny, you couldn't even ask him what kind of coffee he prefered without him launching into "To latte or not to latte..." - quite amusing. The Chesire Cat and another fictional character had a duel in which they had to invoke characters from fiction to battle each other, eg. Beowulf against Medusa, Tyrannasaurus Rex against a Jabberwokie (what is that anyway?), etc. No Krackens allowed, the Kracken being the most powerful monster in fiction. Me, I would've summoned a balrog, or maybe a stilken (Garth Nix). I keep racking my brains to think of suitable monsters. The possibilities really are endless...
